Questions the interviewee should ask

While much of the interview will center around you answering questions as the applicant and interviewee, most of the time you will also get the chance to ask questions yourself. Use this chance to find our more about the position and the company. Asking questions shows you are prepared, interested and confident.
Consider asking some of the following questions in the next interview you attend as the candidate.

“What skills does the ideal candidate for this role need to have?”

This question shows that you are genuinely interested in what the role will involve and demonstrates that you are serious about the job. Also it may give you the chance to then reply and point out the skills you possess yourself. Knowing what the company is looking for is half the battle in presenting yourself as the ideal candidate. So why not just ask outright?

“How would you describe the day-to-day experience of working here?”

This demonstrates that you have a strong interest in the company culture and want to make sure that the working environment is right for you. You show that you are interested in finding the right job and the right company rather than just an employment as soon as possible.

“What is the key challenge that this company is facing and how does the role contribute to solving it?”

This is a good question as it can give you the opportunity to respond with some suggestions as to how you could meet this objective. It shows a proactive stance on your part and the recruiter can immediately see how you would act in the role you are applying for. If you know the industry well you will likely be aware of some of the current challenges, and can therefore prepare a comprehensive strategy to impress with.
